Time blocking
Time blocking is the practice of giving every piece of work a specific slot in your calendar, rather than keeping it on a list and hoping for a gap. The calendar stops being a record of meetings and becomes a plan for the whole day.
Also called: calendar blocking, time blocking method
Where it goes wrong
Almost every account of it skips the maintenance. Blocking a week by hand takes twenty minutes, and one moved meeting on Tuesday invalidates the rest of it. People rarely abandon time blocking because it did not work; they abandon it because rebuilding the week by hand every time something moves is a second job.
Diarized schedules the work you already keep in a to-do app into the calendar you already use, and shows you why every block landed where it did.
