Timeboxing
Timeboxing is fixing how long you will spend on something in advance, and stopping when the box ends whether or not the work is finished. The limit is the point: it forces a decision about what good enough looks like.

Where it goes wrong
It is routinely used as a synonym for time blocking, and the two are different claims. Time blocking says when work happens. Timeboxing says when it stops. You can block a calendar without ever enforcing a limit, which is what most people who say they timebox are actually doing.
