Objectives and key results
Objectives and key results, usually shortened to OKRs, pair a stated goal with a few measurable outcomes that would show it had happened. Andy Grove built the format at Intel in the 1970s and John Doerr took it to Google in 1999.
Also called: OKRs, OKR framework
Where it goes wrong
OKRs were designed to align organisations, and what they align is direction rather than hours. Applied to one person they tend to produce a quarter with three ambitious objectives and no answer to which Tuesday afternoon any of it happens on.
Diarized schedules the work you already keep in a to-do app into the calendar you already use, and shows you why every block landed where it did.
