Scheduling horizon
The scheduling horizon is how far into the future a tool will place work. A one-week horizon can only tell you this week is full; an eight-week horizon can tell you a deadline five weeks out is already in trouble.

Where it goes wrong
It is the limit most often used to separate a free plan from a paid one, and the one buyers notice last. Reclaim's free tier stops at one week and FlowSavvy's at two, which is long enough to feel like a working product and too short to see a deadline coming.
